Box Beams & Beam Facings

Reclaimed oak box beams and beam facings offer the look, texture and character of antique oak beams with greater installation flexibility.

They are suited to projects where a full solid beam is not required, or where existing structures, steel, posts or architectural details need to be wrapped or faced with aged oak.

Made from reclaimed European oak, each piece carries natural variation, visible grain, cracks, saw marks, worn edges and the aged surface that makes antique timber so distinctive.

Box Beams

Box beams are used to create the appearance of solid antique oak beams while allowing for a lighter and more adaptable installation.

They can be made to wrap steel beams, conceal services, create ceiling beam features or add scale and character to a space without using a full solid beam section. This makes them a practical option for both new builds and renovations where the look of aged oak is desired, but weight, structure or installation requirements need to be considered.

Each box beam is made using reclaimed oak faces selected for character, texture and tone. The result is a beam feature with the visual depth of antique timber and the flexibility needed for modern architectural interiors.

Beam Facings

Beam facings are used when only the visible face of aged oak is required.

They can be fitted over existing beams, posts, lintels, fireplaces or other architectural features to bring the surface character of reclaimed oak into a space without replacing the underlying structure.

This makes beam facings a useful option for renovations, alterations and interiors where existing elements need to be enhanced or given the character of aged oak. They are also well suited to projects where reclaimed oak is being used as a feature detail rather than a full structural element.

Finishes & Character

Our box beams and beam facings can be selected to suit the look and level of refinement required for the project.

Options may include original aged oak faces, fine band-sawn surfaces or dressed faces where suitable, depending on the timber available and the desired finish.

As with all reclaimed oak, natural variation is part of the character. Each piece may include tonal variation, cracks, knots, old saw marks, worn edges, weathered texture and visible grain. These details are what give reclaimed oak its depth and sense of age.
